Only treats, no tricks with these delicious nut butter cups made with all healthy ingredients and free of refined sugar. Make them for you and your kiddos this Halloween!

Ingredients for Nut Butter:

½ cup your favorite unsweetened nut or seed butter

2 teaspoons Lucuma powder, or more to taste

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Ingredients for Chocolate:

¼ cup Cacao powder

⅛ cup coconut oil

1-2 Tablespoons maple syrup

Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Procedure:

  1. Prepare nut butter: In a small bowl, combine your butter, lucuma, and vanilla extract. Taste and adjust the taste to your liking.
  2. Prepare chocolate: In a double boiler, on low heat melt down coconut oil. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in cacao powder, maple syrup, and pinch of sea salt.
  3. Line a muffin pan with paper or silicone cupcake holders. Fill each cup with 1-2 teaspoons of the chocolate mixture, just enough to cover the bottom of each mold. Place in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens. Once hardened, dollop about 1 teaspoon of the nut butter mixture into each mold and press lightly to flatten out a little bit but ideally not letting it touch the edges of the mold. Pour chocolate over it until the nut butter is covered completely. Sprinkle with a dash of course sea salt for flavor (optional). Place the muffin pan back in the refrigerator until all chocolate is hardened, about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Take chocolate cups out of the molds and enjoy! Keep stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
