Orange Creamsicle Popsicles And A Bottle Of Truly Natural Vitamin C Powder

Refreshing Creamsicle Popsicles Recipe

Sweet Summer

Summer brings the heat. For families, it also means kiddos are home and in need of snacks and meals all day long. We cherish the extra quality time, the longer days, and the sunshine, and we also love cooling off with sweet, frozen treats. Nothing beats coming in from the sun, hanging out by the pool, or enjoying an evening in the backyard, and snacking on a refreshing popsicle. We have many wholesome memories of Summer days punctuated by a visit from the ice cream truck, although those sweet treats were, typically, anything but wholesome. These days, we make new Summer memories with sweet treats that are healthy and full of fresh, natural, whole food, good-for-you ingredients.

Orange Creamsicle Popsicles And A Bottle Of Truly Natural Vitamin C Powder

The last thing you want when you’re trying to keep yourself and your family hydrated is ultra processed food like refined sugar, synthetic food coloring, and frozen dairy “products.” Most of these options contain more corn syrup than the fruit they claim the flavor of, plus a range of artificial sweeteners, gums, and other substances that are difficult for your body to digest and provide no nutritional value.

When looking for cool treats for your loved ones, skip the freezer aisle and the boxes filled with hard to pronounce ingredients wrapped in plastic. All you need is a popsicle mold and a blender, plus a handful of whole foods, to whip up a sweet Summer treat that is nourishing and can be enjoyed by the whole family.

These orange creamsicle popsicles are vegan, refined-sugar free, and packed with extra nutrients from our Truly Natural™ Vitamin C powder and schisandra powder. Oranges and coconut milk combine to make a bright, creamy, smooth popsicle that will cool you off and fill your cup. There is so much to love about vitamin C and the many benefits this antioxidant provides, including healthy immune and nervous systems, collagen production, and much more. Paired with schisandra powder, these two superfoods bring a tangy, complex, whole-food flavor to these popsicles.

Schisandra, a woody vine that produces small, bright red fruits, is a powerful adaptogen originating in Asia. Chinese folklore says that schisandra can “calm the heart and quiet the spirit.” The schisandra fruit is also known as the Five Flavor Berry, capturing the five basic flavors in Chinese herbal medicine – sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy. The powder is a great addition to smoothies and fresh juices, and what is a popsicle if not a frozen juice or smoothie?

Coconut milk, fresh oranges, and dates combine to make a luscious, citrusy treat reminiscent of the popsicles sold by the ice cream truck, but with none of the gunk and all of the good stuff. These popsicles taste like a tropical vacation; don’t be surprised if one bite transports you to memories of watching a sunset on the beach. They come together in a flash and, with a little patience while they set in the freezer, you’ll have the most wholesome, delicious dessert or afternoon snack on the block.

Serve them up at your next cook out or family get-together, or make a batch and keep them in the freezer to have healthy, wholesome, natural sweet treats on hand all Summer long.

Vegan Creamsicle Popsicles Recipe

Ingredients:
2 oranges (of any kind, the sweeter the better)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 Medjool date, pitted
1 teaspoon Truly Natural™ Vitamin C  powder
1 teaspoon schisandra powder

Procedure:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust flavor to your liking.
  2. Pour smoothie into popsicle molds to fill each about ¾ of the way. Place a popsicle stick in the center of each mold. Place in the freezer until solidified, at least 4 hours.
  3. Remove popsicles from mold when you’re ready to eat them. It can be helpful to run the mold under warm water if popsicles aren’t coming out of the mold easefully. Enjoy!
