ORGANIC KLAMATH LAKE BLUE-GREEN ALGAE: Pure, single-celled, freshwater, blue-green algae (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae) grown in the exceptionally mineral-rich ecosystem of Upper Klamath Lake in southern Oregon, USA.

VITAL HEALTH BENEFITS: Klamath Lake blue-green algae is a valuable source of a naturally present, special brain- and nervous system-supporting compound called phenylethylamine (PEA), which behaves as a neurotransmitter.* Remarkably, Klamath Lake blue-green algae is supercharged with PEA and reported to contain the highest amount of naturally-occurring PEA of any food tested including chocolate. The problem with PEA is that it has an extremely short life span in the body. It quickly gets metabolized and cleared out of circulation. What is unique about the PEA in Klamath Lake blue-green algae is that this microalgae contains an accompanying compound called phycocyanin, a distinctive, uncommon phytonutrient that can only be found in blue-green algae. Besides being responsible for blue-green algae’s blue color, phycocyanin slows down the body’s ability to metabolize PEA, and consequently, the PEA gets more hang time in the circulatory system (is more bioavailable).* This is important as the longer PEA is in circulation the more it can exert its positive influence. STATE-OF-THE-ART PROCESSING: Harvested from the deepest and cleanest section of the lake. The algae is then transported to shore where it is powdered using a special, proprietary refractance window drying process that preserves the algae’s natural vibratory signature thereby maintaining maximum integrity of the algae.
