MEDITERRANEAN SUPERFOOD: Carob powder is a delicious, non-stimulating, perfectly-roasted superfruit made from the pulp of the carob pods of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua). Carob trees are native to the Mediterranean region. The use of carob dates back 4,000 years to the geographical location of ancient Greece. The carob we use is organically grown on U.S. soil.

VITAL HEALTH BENEFITS: One serving of carob powder provides 11% of the daily value of dietary fiber. Carob’s fiber, present mostly as insoluble fiber, contains a rich variety of antioxidants (phenolic compounds). As the majority of the polyphenols are bound to the dietary fiber, the antioxidants are better able to reach the colon where they can confer benefits and maintain gastrointestinal health.*

DELICIOUS FLAVOR: An earthy, malty, astringent-sweetness. Add to smoothies, warm or cold beverages, raw treats, frozen desserts, and baked goods. Carob is commonly used as a cacao alternative for those with sensitivities to stimulants because carob does not contain caffeine or theobromine (central nervous system stimulants).

• 8 fl oz nut/seed milk
• 1 teaspoon carob powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
